National Photography Award and Exhibition 2013
All photographers residing in the United States are invited to submit one photograph taken in the United States after January 1, 2011 for “Camera USA: National Photography Award and Exhibition 2013.” The photography exhibition will be open to the public in The von Liebig Art Center’s Frederick O. Watson Gallery from June 17 through August 23, 2013. The von Liebig Art Center is located at 585 Park Street in Naples, Florida in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and arts district. A $5,000 grand prize award will be presented to one photographer. The grand prize award winner will also receive two nights hotel accommodations in Naples, Florida and round-trip economy class airfare to attend the preview reception and award presentation on Friday, June 14, 2013.
Entries for Camera USA will be reviewed and scored by three distinguished judges: Harry Benson, Ron Bishop and Christopher Rauschenberg. During his 50-year career as a photojournalist, Harry Benson has created unforgettable photographs of dignitaries, politicians and celebrities for top magazines. He is currently under contract to Vanity Fair and from 1970 through 2000 he photographed for Life Magazine. Benson was twice named the National Press Photographer’s Magazine Photographer of the Year. In 2005, he received the Lucie Award for Lifetime Achievement in Portrait Photography and he received the Leica Medal of Excellence twice. Ron Bishop is the Director of the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison State College in Ft. Myers, Florida. Bishop has organized key exhibitions of work by artists John Cage, Robert Rauschenberg, Merce Cunningham and Christo as well as developed four major exhibitions with the Martin Z. Margulies Collection in Miami. Christopher Rauschenberg is an internationally exhibited photographer and proponent of alternative exhibition spaces for photography. Rauschenberg taught photography and art at Marylhurst University and is based in Portland, Oregon. Paris Changing is his recently published book featuring re-photographs of Atget’s Paris.

Organizers Terms & Conditions
All photographers residing in any of the fifty States in the United States of America are cordially invited to enter one photograph taken in the United States after January 1, 2011 and not previously exhibited at The von Liebig Art Center. Membership in the Naples Art Association is not required. Accepted photographs must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition and will not be available for pick up until 12 noon on Sunday, August 25, 2013.
Applications will be accepted online until 4 p.m., March 26, 2013. The non-refundable application fee is $32 (for current NAA members the entry fee is $27) and is payable online by credit card.
Presentation and Size Limitations
All photographs accepted for “Camera USA” must be delivered in exhibition ready condition. Photographs must be framed or gallery wrapped with no staples on the sides and a proper hanging wire with raw wire ends taped. For safety reasons, glass may be used only if frame is 20 x 20 inches or smaller. Larger frames requiring a glazing must have Plexiglas.
Dimensions: Maximum framed dimension not to exceed 40 inches in any direction (including frame, if a frame is used). When completing your Juried Art Services application, you will be asked to enter the actual dimensions of the final printed photograph you wish to exhibit.
Photographs may be hand delivered or shipped to Naples. Accepted photographs must remain on display for the entire duration of “Camera USA” and cannot be removed from The von Liebig Art Center until 12 noon on Sunday, August 18, 2013.

Photographs exhibited in “Camera USA” may be available for purchase or listed as NFS (not for sale). Once stated, neither the price nor title of the photograph may be changed. The NAA processes sales and will retain a 30% commission on all photographs sold during the exhibition. Proceeds from sales support the NAA’s exhibition programs. Photographers’ proceeds will be mailed. Photographers generally receive their checks within three weeks from the close of the exhibition.
Photograph Pick-up or Shipped Photograph Return
All unsold photographs will be available for pick-up from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 25 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013. Photographs should be picked-up during scheduled pick-up dates. Photographs shipped for the exhibition with the required prepaid return shipping label or Airbill will be returned shipped by ARTMove LLC during the week of September 9, 2013.
Collectors usually look for photographs printed as part of a limited edition, so considering printing your photograph as an edition and number each print near your signature. Edition numbers are written like fractions with the total number in the edition as the denominator (bottom number) and the number of the print as the numerator (top number). Prints from smaller editions generally sell for a higher price than prints from large or unlimited editions.
Due care will be taken with all photographs. However, the Naples Art Association will not be held responsible for loss or damage to exhibited photographs. The Naples Art Association recommends “Camera USA” exhibition participants acquire insurance to cover loss or damage.
